貓的性格實(shí)在有些古怪。說(shuō)它老實(shí)吧，它的確有時(shí)候很乖。它會(huì)找個(gè)暖和的地方，成天睡大覺(jué)，無(wú)憂(yōu)無(wú)慮，什么事也不過(guò)問(wèn)。可是，它決定要出去玩玩，就會(huì)出走一天一夜，任憑誰(shuí)怎么呼喚，它也不肯回來(lái)。說(shuō)它貪玩吧，的確是呀，要不怎么會(huì)一天一夜不回家呢？可是，它聽(tīng)到老鼠的一點(diǎn)響動(dòng)，又是多么盡職。它屏息凝視，一連就是幾個(gè)鐘頭，非把老鼠等出來(lái)不可！
A cat does have a weird personality. You can say it is well-behaved, and sometimes it is. Light-hearted and careless, it may find a warm place and sleep soundly all day long. However, if it makes a decision to go out and play, then it might run away for a day and a night; however you call, it will not return. You can say it is playful, which is absolutely right. Otherwise it would have been back home long ago, wouldn’t it? However, when a cat hears any sound made by a mouse, it would turn quite responsible. Holding its breath in concentration for several hours, the cat would make up its mind to wait patiently until the mouse comes out.
