石林位于云南省石林彝族自治縣境內，距昆明市78千米，是世界著名的旅游景點。石林就是石頭森林的意思，那里有各種奇形怪狀的石頭，有的像人，有的像鳥，有的像牛。這一地區以喀斯特地貌（karst topography）聞名于世，面積達350平方千米。石林風景區主要包括5個風景片區和石林喀斯特地質博物館。該地區還流傳著一些美妙動人的古老傳說，撒尼人（Sani People）的著名愛情故事“阿詩瑪”就出自這里。石林吸引著眾多國內外游客前去游覽。
The Stone Forest, located in Shilin Yi Autonomous County, is 78 kilometers away from Kunming City, Yunnan Province. It is a world-known tourist site. The Stone Forest, which means the forest of stone, has numerous strangely shaped rocks, some of which look like human beings, some look like birds, and some look like oxen. This place, world-famous for karst topography, covers an area of 350 square kilometers. The Stone Forest Scenic Spot includes 5 scenic areas and Shilin Karst Geological Museum. Some beautiful legends also circulate here, one of which is Ashima’s famous love story from Sani People. Many tourists at home and abroad are attracted to visit the Stone Forest.
