三峽水電站（the Three Gorges Hydropower Station），又稱三峽大壩，位于湖北省宜昌市，始建于 1994 年 12 月，2006年5月全線建成。工程為混凝土重力壩（concrete gravity dam），全長約2 309米，高185米，蓄水高175米。它是世界上規模最大的水電站，也是中國有史以來建設的最大型的工程項目，凝聚了無數工程師的智慧結晶。三峽水電開發是中國可持續發展，尤其是清潔能源開發的一個重要里程碑。除了發電，三峽大壩還發揮著航運、旅游、水資源利用等功能。
The Three Gorges Hydropower Station, also known as the Three Gorges Dam, is located in Yichang City, Hubei Province. It was first built in December 1994 and completed in May 2006. The project is a concrete gravity dam, with a total length of about 2 309 meters, a height of 185 meters and a water-storage height of 175 meters. It is the largest hydropower plant in the world and the largest engineering project ever built in China, which is the culmination of the wisdom of countless engineers. The development of the Three Gorges hydropower is an important milestone in China’s sustainable development, especially in clean energy development. In addition to power generation, the Three Gorges Dam also serves the functions of shipping, tourism, and water resource utilization.
