農(nóng)歷七月初七是七夕節(jié)（Double Seventh Day），又被稱為中國(guó)的情人節(jié)，是中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日中最具浪漫色彩的一個(gè)節(jié)日。七夕節(jié)來(lái)源于牛郎織女（the Cowherd and the Weaving Girl）的傳說(shuō)。相傳，每逢七月初七，人間的喜鵲（magpie）就要飛上天，在銀河（the Milky Way）為牛郎織女搭鵲橋讓他們相會(huì)。夜深人靜之時(shí)，人們可以在瓜果架（fruit trellis）下偷聽(tīng)到兩人在天上相會(huì)時(shí)的脈脈情話。現(xiàn)在的年輕情侶們?cè)絹?lái)越重視這個(gè)節(jié)日，在這一天他們會(huì)互送禮物以表達(dá)愛(ài)意或到比較浪漫的地方共進(jìn)晚餐。
Double Seventh Day, which falls on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, is also called Chinese Valentine’s Day. It is the most romantic traditional Chinese festival. Double Seventh Day derives from the legendary story of the Cowherd and the Weaving Girl. According to the legend, during the Double Seventh Day, all the magpies would fly to the Milky Way to build a bridge for the Cowherd and the Weaving girl to date. In the still of night, under the fruit trellis, one can overhear their sweet conversations while they meet in the heaven. Nowadays, young couples pay more attention to this festival, and express love to each other by sending gifts or going to a rather romantic place for dinner on this day.
